Grandma was allowed home from the hospital on a day pass today. She’s pretty stoked about that! It’s a lovely sunny day to be out and back in your own home. If she is able to manage for a couple of days in the daytime with home support dropping in then she will be trying it at night too. God has been good to Granny.

Hi all, here is an update. We went to Mooseskin once to put the canoe back together and also managed to fall a tree across the creek that never freezes and this past Monday which was a rare sunny day we went back once more to bring the canoe to its destination. Other than that we didn’t get out much as Grandma had a stroke and also broke her right wrist in the fall so she needed looking after. She made a marvelous recovery so far but is still in hospital. If she can learn to get out of bed on her own and use the bathroom then she may get discharged next week but lots of work needs to be done before that. Dad/Dick is recovering from shingles, still quite itchy and in his spare time he has been helping Glen with putting a Hino frame under his motorhome. It will also have a Hino motor. Quite the undertaking. Blessings, z.v.

Mooseskin MadnessWe had a lovely trip to Mooseskin this week, 2 nights, 3 days. Sunshine, snow!!, fish, great views, company, etc. Our attempt to tow our old canoe in failed though:) Should have had a tarp covering it because tons of snow got shovelled in from the sled pulling it and when going over the moguls it fatigued. Oh well, we tried. So much snow! The first hour at the gate we took turns shovelling so we could get it open far enough. Then the fun with the canoe, then fishing, then looking for Mary’s buried sled, then shovelling off the cabin roof, what a day!
Next day Dick finished shovelling out Mary’s sled and I shovelled the outhouse entrance. Then we had Jeremy and Rick come visit by 11 am and we broke the mine trail, (with powersaw along) and had some gorgeous scenery up top in the alpine area before the clouds rolled in. The visitors had some fun getting back through the first creek which has no bridge this winter. Rock in the track and falling off the tree bridge etc. After that we went looking for a dead tree because we needed more firewood. Then we called it a day.
Next day we did some snowshoeing at the creek to look for an easier crossing but did not find anything except some more trees we could try falling across. By lunch time we were almost packed up to go and decided not to fish anymore since it was snowing. Decided to go home and rest up:) What a blessing to be able to enjoy God’s great outdoors and arrive home safely.
